MBNA Chester Marathon and 10KM

Since 2010 we have worked with Active Leisure on the MBNA Chester Full, Metric and Mini Marathon, and the MBNA Chester 10KM.

Together we’ve helped thousands of people achieve something remarkable, all while raising millions of pounds for charities.

Since the beginning of the partnership we’ve:

  • Seen more than 60,000 entries to Active Leisure’s events
  • Raised almost £7 million for charity
  • Supported runners to cover 878,933 miles through our events
  • Supported over 100 individual charities.

Sale Sharks Foundation

Together with the Sale Sharks Foundation we have launched a new diversity and inclusion programme, ‘Tackle Together’. 

‘Tackle Together’ provides accessible sessions of Inclusive Rugby, Wheelchair Rugby and Down Syndrome Rugby, working with young people with disabilities as well as visual, audio and physical impairments.

  • Engaged with 1,623 participants from across the North West
  • Delivered 262 dedicated coaching hours
  • Continuing to work with 44 schools and counting!

Chester Zoo Climate and Sustainability Programme

MBNA is proud to work alongside Chester Zoo, one of the leading organisations in the country for wildlife protection and conservation.

Through our partnership, Chester Zoo launched a dedicated education programme to help make climate change less of a taboo subject. 

These education programmes provide interactive activities and useful information that will empower students to take action against climate change and to help protect our planet.

Chester Pride

We’re a proud supporter of Chester Pride’s annual event in August, inviting colleagues to come together and celebrate diversity and inclusion.

Storyhouse

Since 2016, we’ve sponsored Storyhouse, a diverse, progressive, cultural organisation welcoming more than a million visitors every year.

We’ve worked together with local charities and partners to make sure that people from across the region can benefit from their impressive cultural offering:

  • 520 tickets donated to schools and charities
  • 200 tickets given to local school children under 7
  • Provided more than 520 free meals
  • Worked with 10 schools in areas of deprivation.

Chester Racecourse

We work alongside Chester Racecourse, donating hundreds of tickets to local charities through exclusive events throughout the year. Events ensure that families are in a safe environment and are all welcomed with a complimentary meal/voucher. 

Chester FC Community Trust

MBNA is entering its 14th year with Chester Football Club as their principal sponsor – one of the longest spanning sponsorships in English football.

During this time, we’ve worked to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all to enjoy, with over 8,360 people engaging in Chester FC’s community programmes, including:

Community Support with Bolesworth

We host various events throughout the year with local businesses. Bolesworth are a key partner in delivering these events. 

'Make a Child’s Christmas’ campaign allowed families from various local hospices to come and enjoy a Christmas experience, which allows terminally ill children and their siblings an opportunity to enjoy Christmas.
